The California Alpine Club is an outdoor and social organization whose
activities
are centered in its two
lodges
.
The purpose of our Club is to explore, enjoy and protect the natural resources of our land, including wildlife, forests and plants, water and scenic values; to support and promote educational programs on these and related topics; and at all times to protect and, as far as we are able, to improve the environment in which we live.
"Leave no Trace"
The Club publishes a semi-annual activity schedule and a monthly newsletter,
Trails
, both of which are sent to all members.
The Club is also active in conservation work and contributes regularly to the support of various environmental organizations.
Total membership currently stands at about 850 and family membership is encouraged.
